Valle Romano Golf Club has finally opened and Golf Experience has had the pleasure of playing this wonderful addition to the Costa’s stock of courses.
Cabell Robinson who also designed the nearby Finca Cortesin and La Reserva courses etched this championship course from land just west of Estepona.
It has many of the characteristics of both La Reserva and Finca Cortesin and we were also pleasantly surprised with the high level of service and attention to detail.
Its fairways and generous and greens and big and undulating. The course is long at 6000m off the yellows. Our only slight reservation would be the unsightly apartments which are a little too close to a couple of fairways. Apart from that the Real Estate is unobtrusive.
The clubhouse is also an architectural gem. Golf Experience has great value introductory rates of €55 valid till mid May. Buggies are not included but required.

| The Valle Romano Golf Course has been created by Cabell B. Robinson, whose projects include many prestigious courses in Spain (Sotogrande La Reserva among other)
This course has been designed to be part of the European Tour. Its fairways can adapt to players of all levels and it has large greens. The course is located in the flattest part of the complex and goes from an elevation of 116 to one of 50.
One of the design objectives was to create a course that could be enjoyed by all golfers, from the lowest handicap to the highest. To achieve this, an average of 5 tee platforms have been constructed per hole and the greens are large (with an average size of 500 m2, although the largest reaches 1.000 m2). The greens, with their gentle but long slopes and large number of flag positions, are designed so that each hole on the course can be easy or very difficult.

The highlights are undoubtedly: Sergio García, Camilo Villegas, Steve Stricker, Retief Goosen and Sean O ‘ Hair. We will certainly have a great roster of players that will enjoy our golf course, hotel and hopefully the good weather. For more info regarding the tournament visit:

Located in One of the Most Luxurious Resorts in the Costa del Sol
From last May, the second golf course at the Flamingos Resort, Gran Flamingo Golf, begun a process of radical changes involving the name, management, image and, above all else, improvements to the amenities and services.
From now on, the course, located in one of the most luxurious resorts on the Costa del Sol, will be known as Alferini Golf Club.
Alferini Golf is a true challenge for any golfer. Situated next to the other course of Flamingos Golf Resort, it is a long layout of 6,600 metres, and one of the few par-73s on the Coast, with some of the fairways
requiring pinpoint accuracy and large, generous greens. With four large lakes, water comes into play on several holes, and there is a minimum of five levels on each tee – enabling the course to be adapted to different playing levels and degrees of difficulty. Out on the course there is a feeling of peace and quiet, a welcome lack of noise, because Alferini Golf is truly in the midst of nature, a lush valley within the mountains of Benahavís.
