What They Say…..

Home of the European Tour Qualifying School Finals for the last 14 years as well as hosts of the Spanish Open (2005 & 2006), The San Roque Club offers 2 courses which are as fun to play as they are beautiful, all within a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Designed by the legendary Dave Thomas, The Old Course is the pride of the club and is rated amongst the finest courses in Europe. With its length of 6494m it features beautiful cork oak woods on the front 9 and stunning water hazards on the back 9 holes. This championship course is fun to play whether you are a low or high handicap player.

The New Course - 6626 m - aims to complement The Old Course, while presenting a very different challenge. The designs, by the renowned American course designer Perry Dye, incorporate the contours of the San Roque hills, giving golfers wonderful views to the Guadalquiton River and the Mediterranean Sea beyond.

Away from the greens, The San Roque Club also offers an authentic Japanese Restaurant, 2-tiered driving range and Golf Academy, Club Membership and a lively bar which makes the best Pimms on the Coast!

What We Say……

The discerning and regular golfer to the Costa will always return to The San Roque Club. Not because it has hosted prestigious tournaments to beat the band but because the design and lay out of the Old Course is indeed one of Spain’s best. A fair challenge of golf for the average golfer and if the low handicappers want more, well, they need only step back to the white tees.

Apart from the quality of the course there is a tranquil and pampered aura about The San Roque Club which means that you don’t rush away from it but tend to languish in its comfortable and pleasant surrounds.

The new course is a trickier affair – long and tight in places and with a reputation for great greens. It has a few blind shots meaning that you’ll certainly score better on your second time round.

Both courses offer great off-peak value.

Do not miss these two gems. No golf holiday to the south of Spain should pass without playing at least one of the two san roque’s.

Our group of 16 played the old and the new this September and not one single complaint was heard. These are two of the best courses we have ever played. After playing the old course we did a straw poll over a few beers to see which course everybody preferred and we ended up with a 50% split.

The opening 3 holes on the new course were a real taste of what was to come and when we saw the index 17….

Fabulolus clubhouse with very friendly staff and no rip of prices.
